Data Collection
What is the Data Collection phase?
This part of the onboarding process is where we collect key details about your site. We’ll analyze your site’s traffic and, if you're running ads, evaluate their performance.
How long does this phase take?
It only takes a few minutes to complete. You'll just need to provide some site-related information.
Google Analytics
I shared Google Analytics access with Raptive on my application. Why do I need to share it again?
To submit an application, a ‘read-only’ authorization of your Google Analytics account was required to confirm your site’s traffic. During onboarding, we gain ‘viewer’ access, which allows us to integrate your analytics data with your Raptive dashboard and maintain ongoing analytics reporting and optimization of your ad performance.
Can I remove Raptive’s access later?
No, we have to maintain ‘viewer’ access since your analytics data powers much of your Raptive dashboard.
Ad Performance
Why do I need to upload my ad performance data?
We request reports of your current ad revenue so we can better understand how your ads are currently performing. We also evaluate how readers engage with your ad layout, how advertisers value your site, and which ad units are driving the most revenue. These insights ensure your site is ready for a strong start with Raptive.
Additionally, reviewing your ad revenue reports helps us determine if you’re eligible for our RPM Guarantee.
I’m having trouble uploading my reports. What do I do?
Common issues that can prevent a successful upload include:
- Rows or columns with blank cells
- Repetitive or duplicate information in multiple rows or columns
- Data unrelated to your site mixed in the report
- Multiple rows for a single date, which can confuse the system
If you're unsure, it's always okay to send over the file to your Onboarding Specialist and they’ll help clean it up or point you in the right direction.
Can I skip this step and come back later?
Yes! Just click “Skip This Step for Now” and you can return to it later. However, all steps must be completed before we can move forward.
Approvals
Why do you need my Google Ad Manager info?
Google Ad Manager approval ensures that we can move forward with a partnership and run ads on your site.
What if I don’t have a Google Ad Manager, AdSense, or YouTube account?
No worries, just select “No” or “I don’t know,” and we’ll guide you through the next steps. You can also reach out to your Onboarding Specialist for more help.
What if I have an existing Ad Manager or AdSense account but can't remember the email associated with it?
Here’s what to do:
- Search all your inboxes for keywords like “AdSense,” “Google Ad Manager,” or “Welcome to AdSense.” Look for emails from adsense-noreply@google.com or ad-manager-noreply@google.com.
- If that doesn’t help, try Google’s recovery guide here: Recover your username or password
- Still stuck? Let us know. We can walk you through the next steps, and in some cases, help you move forward even if the old account can’t be recovered.
Why do I need to give an email address?
We need your email address to send your Google Ad Manager invitation, allowing us to manage your ad inventory. This is a part of the required approval process, and accepting this invite will not impact your relationship with your current ad provider or your ads and earnings.
How long does the approval take?
Google Ad Manager account reviews can take a few days, and we'll let you know once the approval is complete. If you don’t currently have a Google Ad Manager account, the process can take up to several weeks if Google requires you to go through its identity verification process. You can read more about that here. After that, we’ll work on getting your domain approved.
Site Setup
What is the Site Setup phase?
During this part of the onboarding process, you’ll have a few additional steps as we get your site ready for install.
How long does this phase take?
This phase typically takes incoming creators 10-15 minutes.
Comscore / TAL
Do I need to create a Comscore account?
No need to create a Comscore account.
What should I enter for the "TAL Effective Date?"
You can choose your install date—or even today—for the 'TAL Effective Date.' It won’t actually go into effect until your install date at Raptive.
What if I have trouble entering my URL?
If the URL won’t save, try removing the forward slash ( / ) at the end if you added one. That should fix the issue.
Install Access
Can I install the ads myself?
Sure! You can choose to install the ads yourself. Just select “I would like to install the ads myself” from the dropdown. On your install day, we’ll provide you with everything you need to get your Raptive ads up and running.
What if I don’t use WordPress?
That’s no problem. Please let us know your platform (e.g., Squarespace, Shopify, Blogger) using the dropdown menu.
What URL should I share?
You can share the URL you typically use to log in. If your site is on WordPress, it’s usually one of these:https://[yoursitename].com/wp-login.php https://[yoursitename].com/wp-admin
Privacy Policy
Why do I need to update my Privacy Policy?
Your site's privacy policy is a legal document that describes how you use information collected from the people who visit your site or otherwise interact with you or your company. A privacy policy is required in order to work with Raptive. Our Advertising Privacy Statement helps your site stay compliant with data privacy regulations.
Where should I place my privacy policy link?
Your privacy policy needs to be visible on your site (not in a dropdown menu), and we recommend having it in your site's footer so it appears on every page.
Do I have to update my privacy policy page now?
We highly recommend updating your privacy policy page before your Raptive install date to ensure your site is fully prepared for a smooth launch. Creators transitioning from other ad providers typically include both Raptive’s privacy policy language and their current provider’s wording until their install day.
Identity Verification
Why do I need to verify my identity?
As part of growing industry and platform requirements, Raptive is verifying the identities, businesses, and domain ownership of every site we work with. This helps protect your account, strengthen advertiser trust, and keep the Raptive community safe and strong. You can read more about why we’re verifying here.
What documents do I need?
Depending on your account type, you may be asked to present a valid ID and/or information related to your business registration, including your EIN, your business address, proof of domain ownership, etc. Persona may also request additional documents depending on your country.
Is my information secure?
Persona is a trusted identity verification provider used by major platforms to prevent fraud. They securely handle your verification data and comply with global privacy and security standards.
Payment and Tax Info
I'm managing this site for a client. How can I get paid?
Payment details must be updated by the verified site owner, and payments can only be made to the owner or their registered business. We’re unable to send payments to friends, family members, or contractors.
I'm a creator located outside of the U.S., but I’d like to be paid in USD. What options do I have?
If you're located outside of the U.S. and want to receive payments in USD, the easiest option is to set up a USD bank account through a service like Wise or Payoneer. Both platforms allow you to create a U.S.-based account with routing and account numbers, which you can then use to receive USD payments through our system.
What tax forms will I need to fill out?
The system will guide you based on your country and business type. For U.S. based individuals or businesses, this typically means a W-9. Non-U.S. creators may be asked to complete a W-8BEN (for individual creators or sole proprietors) or a W-8BEN-E (for businesses, corporations, or other entities). Please consult your tax advisor if you need help completing your tax forms.
Service Agreement
What if I want to leave Raptive in the future?
We require a 30-day written notice, allowing us to fulfill any campaign obligations we've made to our ad partners on your behalf.
Can I work with another ad provider while with Raptive?
No, our agreement requires exclusivity while you're partnered with Raptive.
