The Community Answers feature helps you create consistent engagement in your community by prompting members with simple, discussion-driven questions. With scheduled prompts and featured questions for new users, Community Answers encourages participation from both new and existing members.
What is Community Answers?
Community Answers is a feature that allows creators to:
- Create and schedule question prompts
- Feature a question for your new member experience
- Encourage ongoing conversation and participation
- Increase engagement through lightweight, interactive discussions
Questions appear directly at the top of the feed and function like regular posts, allowing members to react, comment, and engage naturally.
How Community Answers Works
You can find Community Answers in the Community Management view in the left-hand menu on the web or from the hamburger menu (☰) in the app.
Within the Community Answers tab, you can:
- View scheduled questions
- Edit existing questions
- Update publish dates
- Change question copy
- Update the author
- Delete questions
Creating, scheduling, and editing a question
- Open Community Answers
- Select Create Question
- Enter your question prompt; it should be under 100 characters
- Choose whether to:
- Publish immediately
- Schedule for a future date
- Set as the featured new member question
- Save your changes
Featured question for new users
Once a question has been published, you can use the “Feature” toggle to feature it to new members when they first join your community. To update your featured question:
- Scroll to Published Questions in the Community Answers tab.
- Use the circle toggle on the left to mark a published Community Answer as Featured.
Your Featured Question is the first place a new member can participate in the community. When selecting yours, choose a question that is easy to answer and resonates with your audience.
Best Practices
To encourage participation:
- Keep questions short and easy to answer
- Ask opinion-based or experience-driven questions
- Post consistently to build engagement habits
- Use featured questions to help new members introduce themselves
