For some products and services, we may ask for API access to your Google Search Console account. If we are requesting this access, you’ll see a prompt in your dashboard.
This connection will allow us to combine your Search Console information with our internal data so we can provide you with useful insights. You won't see this data populate into your dashboard just yet — this will just give us behind-the-scenes access so we can offer content recommendations and monitor your Google rankings and traffic.
How to connect your Google Search Console account
Step 1: Click the “Sign in with Google” button in the prompt at the top of your dashboard
Step 2: Select the Google account associated with your site’s Google Search Console account
Step 3: Click “Allow” to grant AdThrive permission to view your Search Console data
Step 4: Click the "View Search Console data for your verified sites" option and click "Continue"
Step 5: Click “Allow” when prompted to confirm your choices
Step 6: Back in the dashboard, select the Domain Property for your site (starting with sc-domain:) and click “Confirm”
Google introduced domain properties in February 2019, so if you created your Google Search Console account before then, you may need to go back into your account and set this up.
See this article for a walkthrough of that process: How do I create a domain property in Google Search Console?
That’s it! You should see a message at the bottom of the page letting you know you’ve successfully connected your Google Search Console account.
If you run into any issues while connecting your account, just reach out to our team, and we’ll be happy to help!
