Pin Builder, formerly Raptive Duet, is your Pinterest workflow assistant. It helps you discover, create, and schedule Pinterest content in one place.
It brings together Pinterest trends, seasonal insights, and your existing content library to help you find timely opportunities and get more value from content you’ve already created.
Note: Pin Builder is currently in beta, which means we’re continuing to improve the experience based on creator feedback. You may notice new features, interface updates, or occasional bugs as the tool evolves.
Who has access to Pin Builder?
Pin Builder is available to Raptive creators and authorized team members with access to eligible Raptive sites. To open it, select Pin Builder in your Raptive dashboard.
If you don’t see it, access may depend on your site’s eligibility or your dashboard permissions.
Choose where to start
Pin Builder gives you several ways to find and act on Pinterest opportunities:
- Discover what to Pin: Explore Trends to find topics gaining interest on Pinterest.
- Prioritize existing content: Check Recommended for Pinterest trends that match content you’ve already published.
- Find gaps in your Pinterest activity: Use Gaps to identify posts you may not have created Pins for recently.
- Create a Pin from a specific post: Enter the post’s URL to generate new Pin options.
- Schedule a completed Pin: Upload a Pin you created elsewhere and schedule it directly to Pinterest.
Create a Pin
Once you’ve found an opportunity, Pin Builder helps you move from idea to completed Pin with fewer manual steps.
- Enter the URL of the published post or page you’d like to promote.
- Review the images and page information Pin Builder finds.
- Choose a generated Pin and customize its design, text, description, and alt text.
- Download the completed Pin or schedule it directly to Pinterest.
Before downloading or scheduling your Pin, make sure its text, images, and destination URL are accurate and represent your content.
Customize your Pin
You can guide the design by:
- Selecting images from your post
- Choosing or customizing a color palette
- Using Match This Design to reference the design of a previous Pin
- Adding instructions for your preferred design
- Editing elements of your generated Pin, including text and images
- Customizing the Pin’s description and alt text
You have the final say over how your Pin looks and reads.
Tip: AI-generated results may vary. If a Pin doesn’t turn out as expected, try generating it again or adjusting your instructions.
Find timely opportunities with Pinterest Trends
Sharing timely, relevant Pins is an important part of a strong Pinterest strategy. Pin Builder helps you spot trends and find posts you’ve already published that may be worth sharing. Start with Recommended, Explore Trends, or Gaps to find your next opportunity.
Recommended
Recommended opportunities combine Pinterest trends, seasonality, and your content library to surface relevant posts worth sharing now.
These recommendations help you focus on posts that align with current Pinterest trends. You choose which opportunities to act on and can start creating a Pin directly from a recommendation.
Explore Trends
Explore Trends shows you topics gaining interest on Pinterest and helps you plan for upcoming opportunities.
Trends are automatically filtered based on your site’s vertical, or you can choose to explore trends across other categories. You can also see when a trend is expected to peak, helping you plan Pins ahead of seasonal interest.
Gaps
Gaps compares the content on your site with your Pinterest activity to find posts you may not have created Pins for recently. This can include seasonal and evergreen posts that may be ready to reshare.
Connect your Pinterest account
To use Pinterest-connected features like Trends, Gaps, and direct scheduling, you’ll first need to connect your Pinterest account.
- Select Connect Pinterest
- Log in to the Pinterest account you’d like to connect
- Review the requested permissions
- Approve access
Once connected, you can select your Pinterest boards and schedule Pins directly from Pin Builder.
Note: Your Pinterest connection is tied to your individual Pin Builder account. If multiple people on your team use Pin Builder, each person must connect the appropriate Pinterest account to use Pinterest-connected features.
Schedule a Pin
Scheduling directly from Pin Builder lets you move from creation to publication without switching between multiple tools.
Once you’re happy with your Pin, select Schedule.
- Choose the Pinterest board where you want to publish the Pin
- Choose the date and time
- Review the Pin’s destination URL and other details
- Select Schedule to add the Pin to your calendar
Schedule a Pin created outside Pin Builder
From the scheduling calendar, select the date and time you want to publish your Pin. Choose the option to upload your own Pin, add its destination URL, and select the Pinterest board. Review the details, then schedule the Pin.
Manage scheduled Pins
Your scheduling calendar helps you manage upcoming Pins and publish on a regular schedule with less manual effort.
From the calendar, you can:
- See Pins that are scheduled, published, or failed
- Change a Pin’s scheduled date and time
- Identify Pins that need attention
Once a Pin is successfully published, you can open it directly in Pinterest.
How Raptive tracks Pin performance
When you publish through Pin Builder’s Pinterest integration, Raptive can connect your Pin with performance data without requiring you to manually manage the tracking URLs previously used with Duet.
This removes a manual step and helps Raptive understand how Pins published through Pin Builder perform.
Pin Builder FAQs
Can my VA or another member of my team use Pin Builder?
Yes. If you’d like your VA or another authorized team member to use Pin Builder, contact our support team. They can help set up access through the Pinterest Assistant role.
If I connect my Pinterest account, will everyone on my team automatically have access?
No. Pinterest connections are tied to the individual Pin Builder user. If multiple people on your team want to use Pinterest-connected features, each person will need to connect the appropriate Pinterest account.
Can my VA use Pin Builder for other sites they manage?
A virtual assistant can use Pin Builder only for the Raptive sites they have permission to access. If they manage multiple Raptive sites, they’ll see only the sites they’ve been granted access to.
Do I need to connect Pinterest to create Pins?
No. You can create and download Pins in Pin Builder without connecting your Pinterest account, but you’ll need to connect your account to explore trends and schedule Pins directly on Pinterest.
Do I need to add tracking parameters to my URLs?
No. When you schedule Pins through Pin Builder, Raptive can track performance without requiring you to manually add or manage the tracking parameters previously used with Duet.
Can I edit the text or design of a generated Pin?
Yes. You can add design instructions, choose colors and images, use an existing Pin as a design reference, and make additional edits after generating your Pin. If the result isn’t what you expected, try generating the Pin again or adjusting your instructions.
Why might Pinterest identify a Pin as AI modified?
Pins created with Pin Builder may contain AI-related metadata that Pinterest can detect. As a result, Pinterest may label them as “AI Modified.” If you prefer not to include this information, you can use a Pin Builder setting to remove the metadata before publishing. This may reduce the likelihood that Pinterest will identify the Pin as AI Modified. At this time, we haven’t seen evidence that an AI-modified label negatively affects Pinterest performance. To learn more or to change your Pin Builder settings, visit the Settings tab.
How do I schedule Pins made outside of Pin Builder?
From the scheduling calendar, select a date and time and choose the option to upload your own Pin. Add its destination URL, select a Pinterest board, and review the details before scheduling.
What is Raptive’s stance on AI-generated content?
We believe AI is most valuable when it helps creators work more efficiently, not when it replaces human judgment and creativity. Pin Builder is designed to help you create and share Pins more easily while keeping your voice, judgment, and creative direction at the center. You can read more about our policies on AI-generated content here. Content created with Raptive tools should include meaningful human review and editorial input.
I found a bug while using Pin Builder. What should I do?
Please report bugs through our feedback form here. The more detail you provide, the faster we can investigate.
When possible, include:
- What you were trying to do
