Are YouTube videos are better for SEO?
We tested and found the answer: no!
When you upload a video to your publisher dashboard and include a video title and detailed description, your Raptive video player metadata is optimized for search engines.
You can confidently swap out your YouTube videos for Raptive monetized videos, knowing our video player is designed for SEO.
Follow these steps to swap a YouTube-embedded video with an Raptive-embedded video.
1. Grab your new video embed code from your Raptive dashboard
After you’ve uploaded a video to your dashboard, hover over the video, click on the paper clip icon and select “Copy embed code.”
2. Remove the YouTube embed code from the post and replace it with the Raptive embed code
No matter what CMS (content management system) you use, it’s easy to swap YouTube embed codes for Raptive embed codes.
Replacing YouTube embed codes in WordPress
If your site is using WordPress, the embed code from your Raptive dashboard will be a WordPress shortcode.
Example of AdThrive shortcode embed code
Sign in to your WordPress dashboard, find your post, and click edit. In your post editor, find the YouTube embed code and delete it.
If you’re using the Classic editor, simply paste in the AdThrive embed code and select update to save your changes. If you’re using the Gutenberg block editor, search for and select the “shortcode” block, and add the AdThrive embed code there.
Replacing YouTube embed codes in another CMS
If your site is using any CMS besides WordPress, the embed code from your Raptive dashboard will be a custom HTML div.
Example of AdThrive HTML div video embed code
Go to your site’s standard blog post editor. Find and remove the YouTube video embed code. In the post editor, paste in the AdThrive embed HTML code. Save/Update the post.
