We’re excited to introduce the new Stay Awake feature, designed to improve your site’s experience for visitors while also boosting your earnings. With this feature, your visitors’ devices will no longer dim or go to sleep after brief periods of inactivity, leading to smoother, uninterrupted site experiences. This can be particularly beneficial for content that requires visitors to spend more time on your site, while also engaging in another activity, like cooking while on a recipe site, or following instructions for building a craft.
As a result, you should see an increase of roughly 5.5% in your RPMs as more ads refresh during the extended time the device screen is active.
Stay Awake is now live by default on your mobile and desktop sites. As of October 25, 2024, iOS devices, such as iPhones, and Safari browsers on both mobile and desktop, now also support this feature.
Stay Awake works at the site level and cannot be limited to specific pages. Once a visitor leaves your site, their device will revert to its standard settings, and Stay Awake functionality will no longer apply.
If a device is in low power mode or has low battery power, Stay Awake will not activate. The device will dim or go to sleep as it normally would under these conditions.
If you’ve already got a cook mode button on your site, Stay Awake’s functionality will serve the same purpose for visitors. With Stay Awake enabled, it's recommended that the cook mode button be removed, which can be beneficial for the overall site layout and performance. Removing a cook mode button can often improve RPMs by as much as an additional $2.
On November 14, 2024, we added new controls to Ad Preferences, allowing you to customize this experience directly from your Raptive dashboard. If you decide you don’t want Stay Awake on your site or want to adjust the amount of time that it's active for, simply use these controls or contact Raptive support.
