How do I disable/re-enable ads on a specific post/page?

Disabling ads

WordPress Users:

Your AdThrive Plugin has a built-in feature that allows you to turn off your ads on posts or pages.

You can disable all ads, content ads, and/or auto-insert video players on individual posts and pages by following these steps:

  1. In your WordPress dashboard post editor, scroll down below the editing window.
  2. You will see a section titled “AdThrive Ads”, with checkboxes to block all display ads, just content ads, or auto-insert video players (including the Playlist video player and the Sticky Outstream video player) as shown here:

If you are not seeing all of these options, you may need to update your AdThrive Ads plugin.

  3. Check the box(es) for any ads you'd like to disable on this post or page.
  4. (Recommended) Select a date to automatically re-enable ads on this post or page.

Please note: if you select the disable all ads checkbox, this will remove all of your display ads from the page or post, including sidebar ads, the sticky footer ad, etc., but it will not remove video players.

Some page editors don’t fully support this functionality, so if you ever run into any difficulty blocking ads in posts yourself, just submit a request here in the Help Center!

Other Platforms:

If you're using another publishing platform, or if you aren’t using the AdThrive Ads plugin on your site, we can provide you with a script to place in specific posts/pages that will block ads from appearing. Submit a request here in the Help Center, and we'll be sure to help you out!

An important note on disabling ads:

Disabling ads on specific pages will always impact your earning potential to some degree, so feel free to check with us if you’d like help deciding if it's the right move for you. If a page with the ads turned off receives a large influx of traffic, that can have a sizeable impact on your RPM (earnings per 1,000 pageviews).

Turning ads off for a sponsored post? It's a great idea to use the "Re-enable ads" option to turn your ads back on once that contract is up, so you can begin earning from the ads on that post again!

Re-enabling ads

WordPress:

You can re-enable all ads, content ads, and/or auto-insert video players on individual posts and pages by following these steps:

  3. Un-check the box(es) for any ads that were previously disabled on this post or page.
  4. Clear your site's cache to ensure that the updated settings are reflected live on your site.

Some page editors don’t fully support this functionality, so if you ever run into any difficulty re-enabling ads in posts yourself, just submit a request here in the Help Center!

Other Platforms:

If you're using another publishing platform, or if you aren’t using the AdThrive Ads plugin on your site, we likely previously provided you a script to place in specific posts/pages that will block ads from appearing. Just remove that script to get ads re-enabled! Submit a request here in the Help Center if you need help tracking down the script.

We generally recommend only disabling ads when you absolutely must, and re-enabling them as soon as you can!
