CCPA/CPRA and Raptive ads

Raptive’s ad systems include privacy controls designed to support California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) opt-out requirements for Raptive ads.

What are CCPA and CPRA?

The California Consumer Privacy Act, or CCPA, gives California residents certain rights over how businesses collect, use, share, and sell personal information.

The California Privacy Rights Act, or CPRA, amended the CCPA and added additional privacy rights and requirements.

For creators, this means your site may need to provide California visitors with privacy disclosures and a way to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

How Raptive supports CCPA/CPRA for ads

For all visitors located in the United States, Raptive provides a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link through Raptive’s ad code.

When a visitor selects the link, Raptive uses the applicable privacy signals to restrict personalized advertising and related data use for Raptive ads.

The visitor may continue to see ads, but those ads will not rely on personalized advertising or other restricted uses of personal information

What creators need to do

You do not need to install a separate opt-out tool for Raptive ads.

The opt-out link is included through Raptive’s ad code and ordinarily appears at the bottom of the homepage or the first ad-supported page a visitor views. You should confirm that the link is visible and accessible on your site. If you wish to have this link visible across all pages on your site, reach out to Support, and we can set that up for you.

While Raptive provides privacy controls for Raptive ads, creators are still responsible for their own site policies, legal requirements, and non-Raptive tools.

Raptive cannot provide legal advice or determine whether your site meets every applicable privacy requirement. We can explain how Raptive’s privacy tools work for Raptive ads and help with supported technical configurations.

If you have questions about your site’s legal obligations, we recommend reviewing them with your legal counsel.

Optional California Disclosure Notice

The California Disclosure Notice is an optional Raptive dashboard setting that displays a more prominent Terms of Service and Privacy Policy notice to visitors located in California. It is designed to supplement your existing privacy disclosures by increasing visibility for California-based visitors.
