Growing Your Community with Custom Invite Copy

The best kind of Community growth is sustainable, long-term, and organically woven into the marketing ecosystem you already have. Mentioning your community in ways that feel natural to you, across social media, your newsletter, a podcast, or your website helps build trust with your audience and gives you the opportunity to appeal to them using a variety of angles that might resonate with then, across all of your channels.

Clear and frequent invitations help your audience understand what they’ll find inside, and helps build the habit to return.

Your Creator Tools can help you get started with your Community link, your community focus, and custom invitation copy based on your intention for your community.

Find your custom invite link & copy

In your Community, go to Creator Tools > Invite. There, you’ll find your Community URL and invitation resources, including your Community Focus and three suggested invitation angles, with copy you can review and use across your existing channels.

Your Community URL is the link people use to visit your community. When you share the link provided on the Invite page, it will direct new members to your Welcome Experience, including your Welcome Video (if applicable), and your email opt-in.

Your Community Focus describes the value and experience your community is meant to offer. It can help you explain why your audience might want to join. Read it over and make sure it accurately reflects what members can expect from your community.

Choose an angle that fits

The invite page provides three suggested invitation angles. Each gives you a different way to talk about your community and includes ready-to-use copy with an invitation and your Community link.

Think of the copy as a starting point. You can adjust the wording so it sounds like you, reflects what your community offers today, and feels natural on the channel where you plan to share it. Choose the angle that feels most relevant to what you’re sharing and to the people you’re inviting.

Before you share, check that the message:

  • Clearly explains a real benefit of joining your community.
  • Gives people a specific reason to join or participate.
  • Sounds like your voice and matches the experience members will find.
  • Includes the Community URL from your Invite page.

Copy and use the message

Select “Copy post” beneath the promotion angle you want to use. Paste the copy into the channel where you’d like to invite your audience, such as a social post, email, or website. Review the pasted text before publishing. You can edit it to fit the format, add timely details, or make the invitation more personal.

The copy is a resource for you to use in your own invitations to your community. It is not automatically posted, scheduled, or shared for you. You choose where and when to use it.

Make the invitation your own

A specific invitation is often easier for people to respond to than a general announcement. You could connect the message to a current conversation, a question you’d like members to answer, or a useful resource available in your community.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the promotion copy?

In your Raptive Community, find your Creator Tools from the sidebar, and select “Invite.” Your Community URL, focus, and suggested promotion angles are included there.

Can I edit the suggested copy?

Yes! In fact, we encourage you to add your own unique flair to the copy suggestions before sharing it so that it feels most authentic to you and to the audience you’re addressing in your invitation.

Will the copy be published automatically?

No. The suggestions are for you to copy and use. Nothing is automatically published, scheduled, or shared.

Why should I use the Community URL from the Invite page?

The URL on your Invite page ensures your fans are directed to your community where they’ll see your Welcome Video and Featured Question (if applicable), rather than the main Raptive Community homepage. You can also create a graphic instantly from a post, video, or Community Answers prompt if you prefer to direct your fans to a specific question or post.

What if a suggested detail no longer fits my community?

Let us know! We are always looking for ways to make your Raptive Community experience better while saving you time.
