After your ads are installed, we'll reach out in about 3–4 business days with access to your dashboard, as we're waiting for the initial reports to come back from our ad partners and getting them all synced up with your dashboard.
On your Account Settings page there are four tabs.
- Personal Info - We want to get to know our publishers. Tell us about yourself and upload a pic.
- Ad Targeting Options - Help us connect you to advertisers with high-paying campaigns.
- Product Feedback & Testing - Be the first to try and shape new products and test ad code.
- Content Optimization - Hide the confirmation prompt whenever you remove a content idea from the Content Optimization SEO solution.
To get to the Account Settings area, click on your initials/image in the top right of the page and then click “Account Settings”. On mobile devices click on the hamburger icon in the upper left corner to expose the menu. “Account Settings” will appear on the bottom of the screen.
My Dashboard is your homepage that has a menu of all the resources that are available to you in the dashboard. The homepage also displays Raptive News, an overview of your performance and Site Opportunities.
If you have several sites with Raptive, you can access separate reporting for each site by using the dropdown menu at the top of the dashboard:
The left-hand sidebar provides navigation to the various pages and reports you'll find in your dashboard. Below you'll find a description of each section and the information and tools you'll find within.
- Overview gives a more detailed ad earnings breakdown
- By Page offers page-level earnings and performance data
- By Traffic Source offers site-wide and page-level performance metrics based on which platforms your readers are coming from
- Brand Safety shows you which pages on your site have been flagged by advertisers for potentially risky content
Traffic pulls in key Google Analytics data that can be useful in analyzing your ad performance
Content Optimization gives you access to powerful SEO technology that helps you improve search performance.
Video allows you to upload videos and generate embed codes for pages on your site.
Note: You'll only see the Video tab in your dashboard if you are currently running an Raptive video player. If you'd like to get started monetizing your videos, let us know. We'd love to help!
- Payment Info is where you can choose your payment method and submit your tax form
- Payment History displays past payments and provides receipt downloads
Ad Preferences allows you to make changes to your ad layout and ad categories
Resource Center gives you easy access to expert insights, strategies, and playbooks exclusively for Raptive creators to grow your audience, engage your readers, maximize your revenue, and catch up on the industry.
You can also access Support from the menu to submit a support ticket.
The performance overview on the homepage offers an at-a-glance overview of your account, including:
- Your earnings and pageviews from yesterday, month-to-date, and last month.
- An overview widget showing your earnings and pageviews from the past 30 days as a handy chart or table. Toggle between views with the buttons at the top of the widget.
- Earnings and pageview data by device for the past 30 days.
- A quick summary of your top traffic sources from Google Analytics and the percentage of pageviews they contribute to your site.
- An overview of your video earnings for the last 30 days, if you're using the Raptive video player, and quick video upload option.
The Overview tab breaks down your ad performance data, so you can view specific time frames and historical data for as long as your site has been with Raptive.
You can choose the date range you'd like to view at the top of the page, and the data in every widget below will adjust accordingly.
The "Custom" option allows you to choose your range of dates:
You can download your earnings data to your computer by clicking the green "Export Data" button in the top right corner.
The Earnings Overview widget shows your earnings and pageviews, which you can view in graph or table format:
Breakdown of earnings, RPM, and Page RPM:
The Earnings Overview tab also includes a breakdown of your earnings, RPM, and Page RPM for your chosen date range. RPM (earnings per 1,000 sessions) and Page RPM (earnings per 1,000 pageviews) are how we track the performance of your ads as a whole. You can read more about the two metrics and what each is used for right here in our Help Center.
Click "View All Ad Network Earnings+" to see monthly totals for Raptive Media (display ads) and your Custom Video Player. This is a great place to see how much to expect in your next payment.
If you are running any additional ad networks that report in your Raptive dashboard, they’ll also be broken out there.
See your RPM and Page RPM trends over the period you’ve selected at the top of the page. You can view this widget as a graph or click the toggle button to see each day’s RPM and Page RPM listed in a table view.
Earnings By Device:
This widget breaks down your earnings by the type of device your readers are using to view your site and includes the Page RPM and pageviews for each device type. This gives you the best idea of where the majority of your earnings are coming from, allowing you to focus on optimizing your posts for the devices your readers are using to access them.
Note: Advertisers typically bid higher for desktop traffic, so it’s normal for desktop traffic to have a higher Page RPM than mobile traffic.
Earnings By Ad Unit:
The Earnings By Ad Unit widget displays the aggregate types of ad units on your site and gives you a peek into their performance, with details on the viewability percentage and revenue from each ad unit. You can also view the data by device type (mobile, desktop, or tablet). Note that multiple sidebar or content ads will appear as one ad unit type.
If you monetize your videos through Raptive, the Video Earnings widget shows earnings broken down by video player type.
Performance by Page
On Performance by Page, you can view your page-level earnings and Page RPM, among other metrics. For more information on how to understand and use the information on this page, check out this dedicated article: RPM by Page Overview
Performance by Traffic Source
On Performance by Traffic Source, you’ll find both site-wide and page-level performance metrics — including pageviews, Page RPM, earnings, and more — for the pages on your site based on traffic source. Learn more about Performance by Traffic Source here: Prioritize your content with RPM by Traffic Source
Advertisers may avoid placing ads next to content they consider harmful to their brand. In your Brand Safety report, you’ll see any pages on your site that advertisers have flagged for potentially risky content, as well as the category and level of risk. You can compare performance metrics for these pages against your site averages and thoughtfully determine whether you should update your content. Read more here: How does brand safety affect RPM?
The Traffic tab pulls information from your Google Analytics account and offers several ways to view your traffic data to help you understand how it relates to your ad earnings.
Like with your Earnings tab, you can filter your traffic views using the date range settings at the top of the page.
View pageviews and sessions:
You can use this data to understand traffic and audience engagement — how many people are coming to your site, how many pages they are looking at, and how long they stay.
Your Traffic tab also includes widgets that break your traffic down by device, source, and country. These widgets give you some extra insight into who your readers are and where they are coming from.
View your most popular posts:
Your Traffic tab also shows your top ten posts with the highest pageviews. To maximize your ad earnings, pay close attention to these posts! If you have ads turned off for a specific post that’s bringing in a significant amount of traffic, that can hurt your RPM.
See which videos are getting the most plays:
The Top Videos widget shares the most-played videos for the period you select at the top of the page. Play Rate shows the percentage of readers who clicked to watch the video, so you can see which videos appeal most to readers.
Site Opportunities are cards explaining things you can do to improve site performance. These opportunities offer step-by-step guidance on a wide range of actions that we recommend to help you grow search traffic and increase earnings. Just so you know – recommendations are personalized and based on your site profile. Still trying to decide whether to take action? No problem. Save the recommendation for later and apply it whenever you're ready.

On the Video page, you can upload new videos and grab embed codes.
You can add a title, description, and other information about your video after or during uploading. This article goes more in-depth about the video upload process and adding and editing information about your video.
To embed a video into a post or page on your site, grab the code by hovering over the video, then clicking Embed > Copy embed code.
For WordPress, these embed codes are shortcodes you can copy and paste into your visual or text editor. For Blogger, Squarespace, or other content management systems, your embed codes will be <div> codes which you can copy and paste into your HTML post editor.
