Selling your website is an exciting achievement after working hard to grow your business. To maintain the quality of our creator network and ensure a smooth transition, we’re introducing the following policies for transferring ownership, effective January 1, 2025. If your site meets the criteria below, you can learn more about how we transfer your account here.
For all sites:
-
Content review & transfer guarantee
We’ll review and monitor sites during and after the sale to ensure they continue to follow our content and traffic policies as well as our AI-generated content policies. Unfortunately, we can’t maintain partnerships with sites that don’t comply with these standards. -
Eligible buyers only
To transfer a Raptive account, the buyer must meet certain eligibility criteria (see below). Creators can transfer a maximum of three sites within a 12-month period. - Please notify us before listing your site for sale to simplify the transfer process.
Ownership, identity & ad partner approval:
-
Initiating the sale
Only the Raptive account owner or the primary contact can initiate a site sale. If someone else is assisting with the sale (like an assistant or business partner), please ensure the owner or primary account holder is included in all communications with Raptive. -
Continuity of ownership
Sites must have been onboarded with Raptive for at least six months before they can be transferred. This helps ensure continuity with our ad partners and minimizes disruptions to your account. -
Identity & compliance
The new site owner must use their existing Google monetization account, and the name on the account must match the payee on the Raptive account. If the buyer doesn’t already have a Google monetization account, we’ll send an invitation to help them get set up. This step is essential to comply with IAB and Sellers.json standards. -
Ad partner approval
All buyers must be approved by our ad partners and meet the following criteria:- Not blacklisted or banned by advertisers.
- Must agree to our Terms and Services.
- Must complete Google’s Identity Verification process (if required by Google) for the Raptive account to be fully transferred.
Service Level adjustments:
-
Changes in creator level
When selling a site, the site’s creator level may change at the point of sale. We'll communicate any changes during the transfer process.
Pageview & revenue requirements:
-
For sales to current Raptive account holders:
If you’re selling your site to someone who already holds an active Raptive account:- The site can remain in the Raptive network if it meets the guidelines above [content review, continuity of ownership, ad partner approval, etc.].
- Transfers to current Raptive account holders can be processed in as little as 1-2 business days and will be prioritized over transfers to non-Raptive account holders.
- Creators who sell their qualifying site can retain a smaller site with Raptive. If the current creator service level for the account is impacted, that will be communicated during the account transfer process.
- If you're selling off your larger site, you'll need at least one site with 100,000 pageviews with Raptive to apply with an additional sites under 30,000 pageviews. [Read more here]
-
For sales to non-Raptive account holders:
If you’re selling your site to a buyer who does not already have a Raptive account:- To qualify for an account transfer, the site must have had at least 30,000 pageviews or generated $750 in creator revenue in the past 30 days.
- If there’s an issue with your Analytics account or double analytics at the time of sale, eligibility will be determined based on revenue.
- Transfers to non-Raptive buyers may take up to 30 days due to Google’s new Identity Verification process.
Timeline guidelines:
-
- For transfers to non-Raptive buyers, the process may take up to 30 days, depending on the status of the buyer’s Google Ad Manager account.
- For transfers to existing Raptive creators, expect the transfer to take 1-2 business days. These requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
At Raptive, we’re committed to maintaining transparency and trust within our advertiser network. If you’ve sold a site in the past and haven’t informed us, please contact us at support@raptive.com as soon as possible.
