Help our sales team connect your posts to relevant high-paying premium ad campaigns with the Sponsored Tile option. Brands can “sponsor” a post on your site by filling in existing ad spaces on that post and displaying a small sponsored tile ad at the top of the post.

Sponsored Tile ads use our proprietary artificial intelligence platform, Marmalade, to help our sales team match your site with our brand partners. When a specific campaign is running on a page on your site, a small sponsored tile ad appears at the top of the post with “brought to you by [Advertiser]” messaging.

These campaigns offer great brand visibility, so they pay extremely well on the pageviews where they run, boosting RPM by 2-4x for that page. Unlike a traditional sponsored post, you don’t have to do any extra work or relationship management!

As a creator working with Raptive, your site is automatically eligible for high-paying Sponsored Tile ad campaigns. If you’re not interested in running these ads, visit your Ad Preferences page in the Raptive dashboard and turn off the toggle for Sponsored Tile.

Sponsored Tile Reporting

Because Sponsored Tile isn’t an ad type of its own, it just makes your site eligible for high-paying campaigns where a brand sponsors the other ad spaces on a particular post, you’ll see earnings from these campaigns aggregated with your other display ad earnings in the Raptive dashboard.

Who should run Sponsored Tile?

This is a good fit for most sites working with Raptive—higher RPMs with no extra ad spaces or extra work! This ad type is a great fit for you if you’re open to a wide variety of family-friendly brands and advertisers appearing on your site. Because there’s always a new deal in the works, there isn’t a way to choose specific brands or campaigns ahead of time. Like your normal display ads, you won’t know ahead of time which campaigns appear on which posts—but you’ll get paid well when they do!

This may not be a good fit for sites that are very selective about the brands they want to advertise on their site. If you’ve asked us to block advertisers from appearing on your site in the past, it’s possible that they may still be able to show ads via Sponsored Tile ad campaigns.

Sponsored Tile FAQs

Does this add new ad placements to a site?
Nope, Sponsored Tile doesn’t add any new ad spaces to your site. Instead of running ads for a mix of brands in all the existing ad spaces on that post, only ads for the “sponsoring” brand will run on this single post for the duration of the ad campaign.

Does this run on posts that were already sponsored?
These ads are smart enough not to run on most sponsored posts. Marmalade scans for text like “sponsored by” or “brought to you by” to remove those posts from the pool that can be selected for this type of ad campaign. One caveat: those phrases need to be in plain text on the site, so it can’t recognize an image that indicates that a post is sponsored.

What pages will Sponsored Tile run on?
We’ll only run Sponsored Tile ads when we have specific high-paying ad campaigns with our premium advertisers, so the dates/time frame of when it will show up on your site will vary according to advertiser demand. Posts are intelligently selected according to the needs of the advertiser and the audience they’re targeting.
